All our Model Development assignments concern bespoke solutions specific to client needs. To best manage the costs and risks involved in these specialist programmes,
all of which are led personally by Dr Satchell, we adopt a managed, structured three phase approach. This ensures there are natural break points to optimise the decision and development processes, as follows:
- Phase 1 feasibility – to review the motivation for the assignment and clarify its objective; to assess the viability of the proposal and provide sufficient understanding of the issues
involved in the development process to establish options, costs and timescale
- Phase 2 prototyping – to develop the chosen option through the creation and bench testing of a stand alone model
- Phase 3 implementation – the application and uploading of the completed model into business as usual processes

We work under a wide variety of assignments. Most recent work has included the:
- creation of new indices and measures for UK housing
- research and compilation of European house price data
- development of a scenario testing model for combining mortgage payment and default performance
- development of an integrated monte carlo simulation model for risk management and assessment of capital requirements (Basel II)
